For teenagers, high school can be a lot of work. Juggling classes with sports, not to mention extracurricular activities is difficult to manage. In this edition of Fastbreak '09, Jason Hink visits the Glide Wildcats. The Glide boys return to class AAA's Sunset Conference with high hopes and an experienced set of returning players. Glide is 3-1 following a second-pace finish at the Douglas Tip-Off Tournament.

Some Glide students treated their community to a homemade breakfast just to say 'Thank You.' The FFA students at the high school decided to give back to the community, so they cooked breakfast for anyone who wanted to come in.

Due to heating problems, officials from the Glide School District are sending kids home from Glide Elementary. Plans call for the kids to resume school as normal on Tuesday.

Glide High School students got a chance to learn a lot about Veterans Tuesday, at a special 'Living History Day' at the school. The students were able to sit down with the Veterans and learn about their experiences in fighting for freedom.

As the weather continues to improve with sunny and clear skies, officials are hoping to have helicopters back in the air and aiding operations with aerial ignition over the next few days on the Williams Creek Fire.

Highway 138 east of Glide is open again, and those who were evacuated have all lowed to return to their homes in the Steamboat area where the Williams Creek Fire has burned over 6,500 acres.

Mandatory evacuations were expanded Tuesday near the Williams Creek Fire, which is burning near Glide, Ore.  Residents have to leave five homes in the Moore Hill area, west of the fire along Highway 138.

Every year thousands of tourists flock to Douglas County and spend tens of thousands of dollars. The Williams Creek Fire could put those profits in jeopardy. But business owners along the river say it is threatening the tourism.
