A call to the Oak Street Bridge in Roseburg Tuesday night led to the arrest of a Roseburg man who is now being held on nearly $1-million bail. Police say they attempted to arrest Donny Lynn Morgan, 20, but the man fought with officers.

Ashley Kendall, 22, was shot in the back on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Coos Bay by her estranged husband, Travis Kendall, 26, both of Myrtle Point. Kendall then shot himself in the head after leading police on a chase back to his home.

A cat that died Nov. 7 is the first feline fatality from H1N1 flu, tests have confirmed. The 10-year-old male cat was brought to the Animal Clinic in Lebanon on Nov. 4 with labored breathing. A member of the family had been sick with influenza-like illness a week earlier.
